It’s Never Too Late to Come Home

When You Realize You've Been Going the Wrong Way

Have you ever made a bad decision and thought, "What was I thinking?" We've all been there.

The Prodigal Son didn't ruin his life in one day. It happened little by little. First, he stopped appreciating everything his father had given him. Then he made one poor choice after another until he lost everything.

The same thing can happen to us. We don't usually drift away from God overnight. It often starts with small choices—skipping prayer, ignoring God's Word, hanging out with the wrong crowd, or thinking we can handle life without Him.

The Prodigal Son thought money, parties, and freedom would make him happy. Instead, he ended up lonely, broke, and feeding pigs. He was trying to fill an empty heart with things that could never satisfy him.

Many teenagers today try to fill that same emptiness with popularity, social media, relationships, gaming, success, or chasing what everyone else is doing. While these things aren't necessarily wrong, none of them can take God's place in your life.

The turning point came when the Bible says "he came to his senses." He remembered who he was, where he belonged, and how much better life was with his father.

That's exactly what God wants for you. When you begin to drift, the Holy Spirit gently reminds you that you belong to Him. He doesn't condemn you—He calls you back home.

No matter how far you've wandered, God is never too far away. He is ready to forgive you, restore you, and give you a fresh start.

You are never beyond God's love.

Daily Bible Reading: Jeremiah 25–27 Matthew 2:16–3:10 Psalm 64 Proverbs 14:25–28

Today's Action Point: Take five quiet minutes today and ask yourself: Have I been drifting away from God? What has been taking His place in my heart? Is there anything I need to confess to Him? Spend time praying honestly, knowing God is always ready to listen and forgive.

Challenge of the Day:

Write down three blessings God has given you that you've been taking for granted. Then thank Him for each one. Finally, choose one way to reconnect with God today—read your Bible, pray, worship, or encourage someone else in their faith.
